Connecting Wirecast to Preneur Academy

Wirecast is a live video streaming production tool. It allows users to create live or on-demand broadcasts for the web.


With Wirecast you can connect two kinds of live stream to Preneur Academy:


  1. Standard stream (one-time stream)
  2. Scheduled stream (here is the guide on how to schedule it)


Notes

  • To use Wirecast, you need to purchase one of the Wirecast products on the website. There is a Free Trial on their website. The trial is fully functional but have certain limits
  • To connect Wirecast to Preneur Academy, you will need to stream to Youtube or Facebook first.


Please follow these steps to connect Wirecast to Preneur Academy platform:

Connecting Wirecast to Youtube

 

Step 1: Download or open Wirecast application.

Step 2: Click the Stream button at the top of the screen.


Step 3: Choose the Youtube destination from the drop-down menu.


Step 4: Click OK.

Step 5: Click the Authenticate button near Username section. 


Step 6: Finish logging in to the Youtube account. Once done, you will see the success message appear.

Step 7: Go to YouTube. Click the +Video icon and select Go Live. 


Step 8: On the following screen, select the Stream tab from the left side of the screen and click Create Stream to continue.

Step 9: Go back in the Wirecast Youtube output destination, click on the Refresh button and note that the Stream Now event now shows up on the list.

Step 10: Click OK.


Step 11: Click the Stream button at the top of the screen to start Streaming. Once the connection with Wirecast is complete the stream will be live automatically.

Connecting Wirecast to Facebook

Step 1: Download or open Wirecast application.

Step 2: Click the Stream button at the top of the screen. 


Step 3: Choose the Facebook destination from the drop-down menu. 


Step 4: Click OK.


Step 5: Click the Authenticate button near the Username section.


Step 6: Enter your Facebook credentials. Click Log In or Create New Account to create an account on Facebook.


Step 7: Log in to Facebook. When asked, Wirecast would like to Facebook for you, be sure to select Public. This gives vMix permission to post the live stream on your Facebook timeline or the timeline of any pages you manage.

Step 8: Once you have allowed Wirecast to access your Facebook account, you can configure your output in Wirecast, give a title and description for your stream, where it will appear, and privacy settings.


Step 9: Click Create to generate the RTMP address. This is essential to direct your stream to your Facebook page. If you stop the stream, you should click "Create" to generate a new stream key.
  

Step 10: Click OK to close Output Settings and go back to the main Wirecast Window.

Step 11: Click "Stream" to start your Live Stream to Facebook.


Step 12: There is nothing to configure on Facebook. Your Live Stream will appear on your Facebook profile and on your Timeline.
